Rev. Dr. James I. Lamb

Executive Director

Dr. James I. Lamb grew up in the small, southern Minnesota town of Good Thunder. There he married his childhood sweetheart, RoxAnne. The Lambs have been blessed with two sons and two daughters-in-law, a granddaughter, Jamie, and grandsons, Luke, Grant, and Zane. Dr. Lamb and RoxAnne live in State Center, Iowa. Dr. Lamb received a B.A. in Biology from Mankato State University in 1973. In 1975 he enlisted in the USAF and served as an Emergency Medical Technician at the USAF Academy Hospital in Colorado Springs. He entered Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1978, served his vicarage year at St. Paul, Royal Oak, Michigan, and graduated with a Master of Divinity in 1982. In 1994 he received his Doctor of Ministry from Concordia, Saint Louis. Prior to accepting the position of Executive Director of National Lutherans For Life in April, 1996, Dr. Lamb served as senior pastor at St. Paul, Garner, Iowa, for fourteen years. During this time he also served as Circuit Counselor, member of the board of directors for Lutheran Family Service of Iowa, chairman of the board of directors for a community/school youth program, spiritual advisor for a local Lutherans For Life chapter, and chaplain of the Garner Volunteer Fire Department. He presently serves on the Sanctity of Life Committee for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Life Ministries. He is the author of numerous brochures, articles, and essays connecting God’s Word of Life to the life issues.

 

Licht Scott 2012

Scott Licht
National Director

Scott grew up in New Ulm, Minnesota, and was raised in the Wisconsin Synod. He graduated from Martin Luther Preparatory School, Northwestern College (the WELS pastor-training college), and attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary for a short time. In 2005, he earned an MBA and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Iowa State University. Most recently, Scott worked for Burke Corporation in Nevada, Iowa, as the Information Technology Manager and Supply Chain Manager. His true passion, however, is fulfilled in his weekend job—Pastor of Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huxley, Iowa. They are a mission congregation rostered with the Lutheran Congregations in Mission to Christ (LCMC) and the North American Lutheran Church (NALC). Scott’s role at Lutherans For Life allows him to combine his business experience with his passion for serving our Lord of Life. Scott has two daughters who are grown and living on their own in the Des Moines area. He and wife, Sue, live near Huxley with her three daughters, three horses, two cats and a dog. Scott says, “There is never a lack of things to do and I give thanks for how richly God has blessed me. I look forward to serving Him through the mission of Lutherans For Life and I would ask for your prayers as we continue to ‘equip Lutherans to be Gospel-motivated voices For Life.’”

 

Highby Lowell 2009

Lowell J. Highby

Director of Communications

Lowell joined the staff of LFL in January of 1998. Before assuming this position, he served as general manager of KNGN Good News Radio in McCook, Nebraska, from 1992 through 1997. Before 1992, Lowell worked in various capacities at radio stations in Marshall, Minnesota; Antigo, Wisconsin; and Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He received his broadcast training at Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lowell is originally from the Lamberton, Minnesota, area. He has been active in local congregations, serving as a Sunday school and VBS teacher, LYF advisor, Lifelight group leader, local LLL president, choir member, in various church council positions (board of education, president, and secretary), and as a member of the Clemons Lutheran School board. He is a past president and secretary of the McCook Sertoma Club. Lowell has also been in community theater and local historical societies in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, and Nevada, Iowa. Lowell resides in Nevada, Iowa, with his son, Alexander, and is active at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames.

Kay L. Meyer has been the Director of Development for Lutherans For Life since January of 2009 and has been involved in “For Life” ministries for over 25 years. The half-time contracted position, includes building trusting relationships with LFL donors and offering her advice and expertise in development to the Life Team, the LFL Board of Directors, and LFL volunteers. In addition to her work with LFL she is also the founder and president of Family Shield Ministries and host of its weekly Family Shield radio program. She is a popular speaker and author of numerous books, hundreds of articles, and devotions for children and adults. Her newest book is Witnessing—A Lifestyle which helps individuals learn how to share their faith in the home, at work, and in the community. Kay has a Master of Arts Degree in Media Communication from Webster University, St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Harris Stowe State University. She and her husband, Tjaden, have been married over 40 years. They have three children (two grown sons are now with the Lord), three grandchildren, and are members of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Missouri.

 

Trinche Lori

Lori Trinche
Mission & Ministry Coordinator

Lori was born in Chicago and grew up in Elk Grove Village, Illinois,  where her mother, sister and extended family currently reside. She graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago with a BSBA and later completed her MBA through Ellis College – New York Institute of Technology. Most recently, Lori worked for Waste Management in Downers Grove, Illinois. Her career there was multi-faceted and included roles in billing, accounting, pricing analysis and application development management. Her true passion is her volunteer work for church and community where she served as a leader in the Restore post-abortion ministry for CareNet of DuPage, as a small group leader, GraceCare provider, member of the hospital visitation ministry team, and steering committee member for DuPage PADS at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, Illinois. She also served at People’s Resource Center in Wheaton and in the HavenSource financial ministry as well as on the volunteer data entry team for Lutheran Church Charities. She has been active in helping to organize mobile packs for Feed My Starving Children and in leading volunteer coordination and registration for Community Serving Clinics. She enjoys nature, gardening, and playing the trombone and is active in music ministry as a member of Trinity’s wind ensemble. Lori is widowed. She lives in Ames, Iowa, with her cat. “I look forward to serving the Lord with gladness and a willing heart in my new home!”

Jim grew up on a at Laurel, Nebraska. He is a graduate of Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska, with a Master's Degree from the Universtiy of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jim taught in Lutheran schools and coached for four years. He spent ten years as a district representative and general agent for Aid Association for Lutherans before called by the LCMS Foundation in 1989. He and his wife, Sue, have four children: Lukas, Timothy, Mindee, and Adam. Jim is giving a portion of his time as a Christian Estate Planning Counselor for the LCMS Foundation to LFL. He is offering his services to help those who have connections to LFL develop their Lifetime Plan for Giving. There is no charge for his services and LFL pays his expenses. Davis Laura

Laura Davis joined the Life Team in June 2012. She is the daughter of a Lutheran pastor and a Lutheran preschool teacher from Katy, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Texas A&M University in 2010 and a Master of Public Service and Administration at A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service in 2012, with an emphasis on non-profit management. She was a volunteer and sidewalk counselor with the Brazos Valley Coalition for Life and an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, serving as a Zone Young Women’s Representative. She completed an internship at a pregnancy resource center in Lynnwood, Washington and has previously served on the National Board of Directors for Lutherans For Life. She currently resides in Arnold, Missouri, where she attends St. John's Lutheran Church and is active in the music ministry.

Trisha Adams

Business Manager

Trisha has been our staff accountant since 1999 and LFL national conference director since 2008. She completed an Associate of Science Degree in Accounting in 2000 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from William Penn University in 2006. She attends St. John Lutheran Church, rural State Center, where she is active in choir, Vesper Circle, and currently serves as secretary of the State Center LFL chapter. Trisha has one grown son and lives on an acreage near State Center, Iowa.

Jerilyn Richard

Jeri joined Lutherans For Life in January of 2006. She received an Associates Degree from the Association Free Lutheran Bible School in Plymouth, Minnesota. She continued her education at Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, Minnesota, earning a Bachelors Degree in Business. Jerilyn was a stay-at-home mom prior to working at Lutherans For Life. She has three children and attends Stavanger Free Lutheran Church in Garden City.

 

Amundson Jean 2012

Jean Amundson

Renewal For Life Regional Director of Texas

Jean is an equipping expert. She and her husband, Robert, have raised four children and have seven grandchildren. Her husband is a router for a Walmart Distribution Center. In 2009, Jean retired from a large utility company in the North Texas region as a Certified Professional Secretary. She’s been with Lutherans For Life for many years and has served as president of Texas Lutherans For Life, a state representative to the national LFL board of directors, and secretary of the national board of directors. Jean organized and leads a post-abortion recover ministry, Hope in the Mourning, with the support of the local pregnancy center—for which she was commissioned by her church. Jean served five years (2000-2005) as a Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) Mission Ministry Vision (MMV) consultant for Texas. In 2005, was nominated for LWML Texas Lutheran Woman of the Year. Jean speaks to adult Bible classes and church organizations on life affirming issues.

Kim joined Lutherans For Life in April 2008. Before joining LFL, she was the manager of Creative Apparel, a screen printing business in Story City, Iowa. She and her husband, Kevin, have three married children and six grandchildren. They are members of Stavanger Free Lutheran Church where they have been active in youth ministry, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and many other church activities.

Katie joined the Lutherans For Life staff in April of 2005 as a part-time data processor. She also works part-time at the Ames Public Library. She received an office assistant’s certificate from Des Moines Area Community College in 2000 and her associate of arts degree from Waldorf College in 2002. She has two brothers, two sisters-in-law, and three nieces. Katie lives in Ames, Iowa, and is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she substitute taught in pre-school, taught VBS, and currently teaches Sunday school and sings in the choir and plays on the church softball team.

Bartlett Linda 2012

Linda Bartlett

Titus 2 for Life 

Linda is the wife of Paul, the mother of two sons and two daughter-in-laws, and the grandmother of six grandchildren. Linda is a homemaker, writer, and speaker. She has been involved in the ministry of Lutherans For Life on the local, state and national levels. She served on the national board of LFL for 18 years, nine of them as president. In 2004, Linda stepped down from the role of LFL president to start Titus 2 for Life. At retreats, in Bible studies, on radio, and through a website and blog, this ministry uses the model of Titus 2 in mentoring Biblical manhood and womanhood (titus2-4life.org and ezerwoman.wordpress.com). Titus 2 for Life functions under the umbrella of Word of Hope, the abortion healing ministry of LFL (888.217.8679). Linda is the co-founder of the Lighthouse Center of Hope, a caring pregnancy center in Iowa Falls, Iowa, and serves as president of its board. Linda is the author of Bible studies, devotionals, and booklets including Men, Women and Relationships; Dressing for Life: Secrets of the Great Cover-up; Into His Loving Care (English, Spanish); Not Alone (English, Spanish) and more (available through Concordia Publishing House, or www.Titus2-4life.org).

Dennis is Secretary of the National Pro-Life Religious Council, President of Northern VA Lutherans For Life, and a vicar in the North American Lutheran Church.

 

Kern Grace 2011

Grace Kern

Grace is a social worker and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, has been involved in pro-life work for over 30 years. She first served as president, counselor, and speaker for the Care and Counseling Center of Downers Grove, Illinois, and then as Director of Word of Hope (formerly Healing Hearts) since its founding in 1991. Through her ministry, she has helped women and men struggling with a crisis pregnancy or a past abortion in congregations, communities, prisons, and military bases throughout the country. In addition to counseling, Grace is an educator and teacher. She trains others in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and works with deaconesses through Concordia University, River Forest. Grace started an abstinence-centered education program that has reached well over forty thousand teenagers. She has written a number of articles for LifeDate, and has been a guest on national talk radio programs such as Mid Day Connection, Prime Time America, and Woman to Woman. Grace resides in Oak Brook, Illinois, with her husband Greg who she has been married to for 47 years. They have three children, eight grandchildren, and are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle.

 

Richman Don 2010

Pastor Don Richman

Don was born and raised on a farm near Tower City, North Dakota. After graduation from high school, he served with the Army for two years in Munich. After that, he enrolled at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and Economics in 1959. Soon after beginning his career as a social worker, the Lord called him into the ministry. He enrolled at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated with a master’s degree in theology in 1969. Pastor Richman was married to the former Mavis Elster in July of 1963. They served as missionaries there until 1974. After serving as an associate pastor in Jamestown, North Dakota, for three and a half years, Pastor Richman was called to the senior pastorate at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. After much prayer, thought and consultation, Pastor Richman was led to resign from his position at Emmaus Lutheran church to organize the East European Missions Network—incorporated in 1992. Pastor Richman served as director until March of 2004. He continues as Founding Director of EEMN. Though he and Mavis continues to reside in Bloomington, Minnesota, he travels frequently to various countries in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

 

Wassilak Kristin

Kristin Wassilak

Kristin has served as a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod deaconess for 25 years, in both parish and institutional settings. She is deaconess at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School, Brookfield, Illinois. She is wife of Rob and mother of Collin (15) and Annika (12). Kristin serves on the board of Word of Hope, has served as an LCMS reconciler, on Synodical committees such as President’s Commission on Women, Task Force on Domestic Violence and Child Abuse, and others.
