“God our Father loved us and by his kindness gave us everlasting encouragement and good hope. Together with our Lord Jesus Christ, may he encourage and strengthen you to do and say everything that is good” (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 GOD’s WORD).

There is so much for a Christian to do in this world. There are so many people hungry for truth, so many lives to touch, so much “Good News” to share. With so many opportunities for ministry, why did I choose to support Lutherans For Life (LFL)? Why, after over 25 years, am I still involved with the educational efforts and service of LFL? And why do I ask others to help as well?

Because abortion is, in the words of Mother Teresa, “the greatest destroyer of peace.”

Abortion is an act of violence against a defenseless child who happens to reside for a short period of time in his or her mother’s womb.

After the abortion, the mother may experience a moment of relief, but true peace eludes her. That’s because abortion is unnatural. It goes against the maternal nature of a woman. Every Christian Lutheran should be appalled by the “quick fix” of abortion. God is a God of Life, not death; a God of peace, not chaos.

Abortion is an act which says to the Holy God, “I do not trust You.”

Every Christian Lutheran should be appalled by the arrogance of abortion. God alone knows the purpose and plan for each human life, and He desires that purpose to be fulfilled.

Abortion is an act which says to the Lord of Life, “I do not want anything to do with this human fetus (“young one”) which You have created and redeemed.”

Every Christian Lutheran should be appalled by the rejection of one of His precious children. God has everything to do with each one of us, in spite of our inconvenience and pitiful condition.

Abortion is an act which says to the tiniest little boy or girl, “My life counts more than yours.”

Every Christian Lutheran should be appalled by the discriminatory act of abortion. God loves each human life no matter what size, color, age, place of residence, or ability.

Abortion is an act which only leads to further violence.

Every Christian Lutheran should be appalled by the disregard for God’s gift of life. God loves life! Recent polls show that the majority of Americans believe that abortion ends a human life; however, that same majority also believes that a woman has the right to choose to end her baby’s life. If human life in the womb is of such little value, then how valuable is any human life outside the womb?

There is much for Lutherans For Life to do!

Abby Johnson left her position as director of a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Bryan/College Station, Texas, because her heart and mind were changed by the visual truth of ultrasonography. This science reveals the Truth of God’s Word in Psalm 139:13-16! We can share this life-saving and life-changing Truth!

There is much for Lutherans For Life to do!

In spite of the growing disregard for God’s gift of life, Lutherans For Life promises to persevere. But we need your support. Won’t you consider joining with us and help Lutherans For Life share the truth in Word and deed as the Holy Spirit changes hearts and minds?

While various Lutheran church bodies support our philosophy, our funds come only through memberships and the generous contributions of individuals, congregations, and organizations. (Unfortunately, not all Lutheran church bodies are officially pro-life—more evidence that there is much for Lutherans For Life to do!)

We are confident that God is working through Lutherans For Life. We continue to write new brochures and Bible studies; provide resources for students, families, and congregations via our web site; lead forums on current life issues; and equip pastors and laity for education and service. Yes! God has much to say about His gift of life! Will you partner with us in sharing His Word for life? With your help we can do so much more!

Serving the Lord of Life with you,
